    Your digiGate will need to be positioned close enough for the switch cables to reach the control unit/ switch. 4.3 Double Garage digiGate connects to your double garage with the 4 provided switch cables. 2 cables connect to each garage door. You can connect to each garage door directly at the control units (boxes containing electrics and circuitboards) or to the switches used to open/close them, if available.

    2 power sockets (one for powering digiGate and the other for achieving an Internet connection via an ethernet-over-power device - sold elsewhere). The power supply should be taken directly from your electric gates. The box will need water tight holes for the switch cables to go through to reach the gates control unit. 2. Ensure the box is very close to the gates control unit as this is what your digiGate will connect to with the switch cables. Instructions continue on the next page...

    2. Ensure the cable is stripped with the metal inside exposed and push in the switch cable. Once inside the terminal, ensure no metal from the cable is exposed on the outside of the digiGate. 3. Finally, tighten the screw again so the cable sits firmly in place without falling out. Note: If you purchased a miscellaneous (switchable device) digiGate (not Gate or Garage) - it is VERY important you do not leave any cable exposed when controlling mains voltage devices to avoid serious injury.     6.2 Connecting to your gates Note: These are generic instructions and your gate system may differ. If you have trouble installing, please contact us at installation@digiGate.co.uk with a photo and make/model number of your gate system and we will get back to you with instructions on how to install your digiGate to your specific device. 1. IMPORTANT - Turn off the mains power to your gate system. 2. Ensure you have connected your two switch cables to your digiGate, as described in section 5.2. These should be connected to terminals 1 and 2 of your digiGate.

    Note: If you do not know which terminals the NO and earth/ground are for your unit, please contact us at installation@digiGate.co.uk with a photo and make/model number of your gate switch and we will get back to you with instructions on which terminals to connect to. You must NOT connect digiGate to live power teminals on the gate unit. 4. Connect the other end of cable 1 to the NO (Normally Open) terminal and the other end of cable 2 to the earth/ground (Negative) terminal as shown in the diagram below.

    7.2 Connecting to your garage Note: These are generic instructions and your Garage switch may differ. IMPORTANT Isolate garage control unit power. This can be achieved by locating the fuse box that the garage unit is connected to and switching off the relevant connections. 2. Ensure you have connected your two switch cables to your digiGate as described in section 5.2. These should be connected to terminals 1 and 2 of your digiGate.

    8.2 Connecting to your garage Note: These are generic instructions and your garage switch may differ. IMPORTANT Isolate garage control unit power. This can be achieved by locating the fuse box that the garage unit is connected to and switching off the relevant connections. 2. Ensure you have connected the 4 switch cables to your digiGate as described in section 5.2. These should be connected to terminals 1, 2, 6 and 7 of your digiGate. 8.2.1 Connecting to push button Note: This section is for connecting to your garage push button switch.

    Note: If you do not know which terminals the open, stop (earth/ground) or close are for your unit, please contact us at installation@digiGate.co.uk with a photo and make/model number of your gate switch and we will get back to you with instructions on which terminals to connect to. You must not connect digiGate to live power teminals on the garage unit. 4. Connect the other end of cable 1 to the Open terminal with cable 2 going to the stop (earth/ground) terminal.

    9.2 Connecting to your garage Note: These are generic instructions and your garage switch may differ. IMPORTANT Isolate garage control unit power. This can be achieved by locating the fuse box that the garage unit is connected to and switching off the relevant connections. 2. Ensure you have connected your four switch cables to your digiGate as described in section 5.2. These should be connected to terminals 1 & 2 and 6 & 7 of your digiGate.

    2. Locate the two terminals connected to the reverse of the garage button and connect cable 1 and 2 from the digiGate to these as shown in the diagram below. Do the same for the second garage switch with cables 6 and 7. It does not matter which cable in the pairs connects to which terminal as long as they are not both connected to the same. 3. Re-assemble the override switch again with the front fixed back in place. Ensure no metal from the cables is exposed. 4. With the cables connected, you now need to mount your digiGate on the mount you put on the wall earlier. Please skip to section 11 to see how this is done. 9.2.2 Connecting to garage control unit directly Note: This section assumes you do not have/do not want to connect to a push button switch for your garage and wish to connect your digiGate directly onto the garage control module itself.

    10.2 Connecting to your device Note: These are generic instructions and the device you are switching with digiGate may differ. If you have trouble installing, please contact us at installation@digiGate.co.uk with a photo and make/model of the device you will be switching and we will get back to you with instructions on how to install your digiGate to your specific device. IMPORTANT: Isolate the device you are switching from any mains power.

    11 MOUNTING YOUR DIGIGATE If you are mounting your digiGate onto a wall near your control unit and have already installed the mount on the wall as demonstrated in section 5.1.1, please follow the instructions below. 1. Position your digiGate to the left of the mount. 2. Slide the digiGate to the right on top of the mount until you feel it click into place. 3. Ensure the digiGate is firmly in place and will not easily slide off the mount. 4. If you are switching mains power with a digiGate switchable/miscellaneous device (not gate or garage), please ensure the mount is covering the bottom of the screw terminals so they cannot be touched.     1. Plug one end of the provided Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the digiGate as shown below. 2. Plug the other end directly into your router, access point or ethernet-over-power (powerline) device. Note: If you are installing your digiGate directly at your electric gates or if you do not have physical access to your router or an access point, you will need to purchase an ethernet-over-power adapter to receive an Internet connection there. The ethernet- over-power adapters allow you to extend your network (Internet connection) via the power cables on your property. You will...

    12.2 GSM Dongle These instructions only apply if you purchased the optional GSM USB dongle. Note: The following must be considered when using a GSM module: 1. Check the SIM does NOT have voicemail enabled. This is very important as it will not work properly with digiGate if it has a voicemail. 2. SIM card must be activated and topped up with credit if on Pay As You Go.

  • Page 24: Resetting Digigate To Factory Settings

    This is not necessary for gate or garage devices. 4. Insert the spare switch cable into terminals 3 and 4, as shown in the diagram below. 5. Switch on your digiGate with the reset cable connected and the reset process will begin. Please wait approximately 1 minute with the cable connected for the process to complete.
