Installing the USB to COM/Serial device driver
- Download the VeriFone1000seDriver.zip file from the Keystroke POS website (www.keystrokepos.com).
Unzip this file in your \KEYSTROK program directory.
\KEYSTROK\DRIVERS\VERIFONE\1000se\ folder
- Run the SETUP.EXE program (As Administrator)
- Note: Ignore the message: Please place the Devcon tools in "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers"
Plug in the device
- Connect your USB or Serial cable from the VeriFone 1000se device to your computer
- The computer might recognize the USB cable device and want to install the USB to Serial device driver
Setup the PIN Pad in Keystroke POS
- In Configuration Manager, under Hardware - PIN Pad, under PIN Pad Type, select VeriFone PIN Pad 1000se
- Under Port, select the COM port assigned by Windows.
- The Baud rate may be one of the following:
Baud=1200, Parity=E, Databits=7, Stopbits=1
Baud=9600, Parity=E, Databits=7, Stopbits=1
Baud=9600, Parity=N, Databits=8, Stopbits=1
Setup an Authorization Method for payments that use PIN Pads (ATM/Debit and EBT)
- In Configuration Manager, under Tables - Authorization Methods, select Add New Method
- File Name: Enter a name (example: KPDebit)
- Type: Keystroke Payment Module
- Select OK. This brings you to the Keystroke Payment Module Setup screen.
- Status File Location & Server Address: [Blank]
- Server Port Number and Local Port Number: 0
- Settings ID: [Blank]
- Type: Debit(ATM/PIN) or EBT
- Under Card Reader, select PIN Pad-DUKPT Encryption (Debit(ATM) or EBT)
Attach the Authorization Method to the appropriate Sales Payment Type
- In Configuration Manager, under Tables – Sales Payment Types
- Select the ATM/Debit or EBT payments
- Select Auth Method, and select the Authorization setup above (KPDebit)
You are now ready to use the VeriFone 1000se device in Sales Manager
When a Debit/ATM payment type is selected, the clerk may be asked to confirm the amount and press Enter. Then
Keystroke will wait for the customer to swipe the card (through a keyboard wedge or USB card swipe) and the VeriFone
1000se device will prompt the customer enter their PIN number and select the Green (Enter) key. The request is then
processed for approval.
Note: For Debit (ATM) cards, the card must be swiped and not manually entered.
Note: For EBT/Food Stamp cards, the clerk can hit ESC and enter the card manually.
