► Unscrew the screw (1) clockwise.
► Remove the rider plate (2).
► Unscrew the screws (3) counterclockwise.
► Remove the blades (4).
► Unscrew the screws (5) counterclockwise.
► Remove the blades (6).
17.3.2 Installing the Blades
WARNING
■ The cutting edges of the blades are sharp.
There is a risk of cutting oneself.
► Wear work gloves made of robust material.
► Switch off the weeder.

► Fit blades (1).
► Screw in the screws (2) clockwise and tighten
them securely.
► Fit blades (3).
► Screw in the screws (4) clockwise and tighten
them securely.
► Fit the rider plate (5).
► Screw in the screw (6) and tighten it securely
counterclockwise.
17.4 Offsetting the Blades
WARNING
■ The cutting edges of the blades are sharp.
There is a risk of cutting oneself.
► Wear work gloves made of robust material.
► Switch off the weeder.
► Remove blades.

► Install the blades offset by 120°.
► If the blades have already been offset twice:
Replace blades.
► If you are unsure: Consult a STIHL servicing
dealer.
17.5 Sharpening the Blades
WARNING
■ The cutting edges of the blades are sharp.
There is a risk of cutting oneself.
► Wear work gloves made of robust material.
► Switch off the weeder.
► Remove blades.

► Use a STIHL flat file to sharpen the cutting
edge (2). The file only sharpens on the for‐
ward stroke. Maintain the specified sharpening
angle, 20.2.
► Sharpen the other cutting edges.
► Install the blades.
► If you are unsure: Consult a STIHL servicing
dealer.
18 Repairing
18.1 Repairing the Weeder
The user cannot repair the weeder.
► If the weeder is damaged: Do not use the
weeder; contact a STIHL servicing dealer.
18.2 Servicing and Repairing the
Battery
The battery requires no servicing and cannot be
repaired.
