3.2 Symbols
Meaning of symbols that may be on the weeder
and the battery:
This symbol marks the filler opening for
STIHL gear grease.
1 LED lights up red. The battery is too
warm or too cold.
4 LEDs flash red. There is a fault in the
battery.
Press the unlock button to switch the
weeder on and set the power levels.
This symbol marks the unlock button.
Guaranteed sound power level in
L
accordance with Directive 2000/14/EC

in dB(A) for the purpose of comparing
the sound emissions of products.
The information next to the symbol indi‐
cates the energy content of the battery
according to the cell manufacturer's specifi‐
cation. The energy content available in
operation is lower.

4.1 Warning symbols
The warning symbols on the weeder or the bat‐
tery have the following meanings:
Observe safety instructions and take
the necessary precautions.
Read, understand and keep the user
manual.
Wear protective glasses.
Wear safety boots.
Wear work gloves.

Do not touch the moving blades.
Maintain a safe distance.

Remove the battery during work inter‐
ruptions, transport, storage, mainte‐
nance or repair.
Do not touch hot surface.
Protect battery from heat and fire.
Do not immerse battery in fluids.
Observe the permitted battery temper‐
ature range.
4.2 Intended Use
The STIHL RGA 140 weeder is designed to
remove weeds and mow grass.
The weeder may be used in the rain.
The weeder is powered by a STIHL AP battery or
a STIHL AR battery.
WARNING
■ Batteries not approved by STIHL for the
weeder may cause fires and explosions. This
can result in serious or fatal injuries or dam‐
age to property.
► Operate the weeder with a STIHL AP bat‐
tery or a STIHL AR battery.
■ Using the weeder or the battery for purposes
other than those intended may result in seri‐
ous or fatal injuries and damage to property.
