    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL Operation Instructions How to Charge the Battery Charge the battery for a minimum of 3 hours before using the imager for the first time. The battery status is shown by the indicator in the upper left corner of the screen.

    To power the device on, push and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The power indicator light will flash red and green and an ICI logo will display on screen while an internal motor begins to cool the infrared detector; it produces a continuous humming noise which is normal.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL 8-3-2 Manual and Automatic Mode Users can switch between automatic and manual modes to fine tune imaging and gas detection. Press and hold; then, release the A Key to switch between automatic and manual mode.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL Focus Correct focus is important in all imaging applications. Correct focus makes sure that the infrared energy is correctly directed onto the pixels of the detector. Without the correct focus, the thermal image can be blurry, and the radiometric data will be inaccurate.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL Detection Modes 8-7-1 Normal Mode When powered on the device enters normal mode. In this mode, the device can detect large gas leaks after it has been powered on for 5 minutes. 8-7-2 Trace Mode Small gas leaks are difficult to detect in normal mode.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL Non-uniformity Correction Non-uniformity correction (NUC) is used to compensate for the non-uniformity of detector pixels or other optical interference. The infrared device features an automatic NUC operation. Press the A button to perform a manual NUC operation.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL 8-11 Distance Adjusting the distance can assist the user obtaining more accurate temperature measurements. The distance displays on the LCD screen at the bottom right corner as D:xx. Distance is measured in meters and cannot be changed.
  • Page 33 GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL All objects radiate infrared energy. The amount of energy radiated varies based on the actual surface temperature and the surface emissivity of the object. The Thermal imager senses the infrared energy from the surface of the object and uses this data to calculate an estimated temperature value.

    GAS DETECTIR SERIES USER MANUAL 8-13 Ambient Temperature Users can compensate for ambient sources of energy to eliminate the influence of environmental temperatures. The ambient temperature displays on the LCD screen at the bottom as T:xx °X, where X is the selected temperature scale unit.

    Hard Disk: 40 GB or higher with memory disk 2 G or above Software Installation ICI’ s IR Tools software is provided on a USB drive. Contact customer service if the USB drive is missing. Insert the USB drive into an available USB computer slot.

The germanium window surface is coated with anti-reflection coating. Dust, grease, and fingerprints will produce harmful substances and lead to a decline in performance, or cause scratches.
