D-PVLAN Static Memberships

(Displayed for P-Trunk ports only.)
Allows for assigning D-PVLAN memberships to a P-Trunk port. Check the
checkboxes against the D-PVLAN IDs that need to be assigned to the
port.
On a P-Trunk port, to distinguish the traffic on different D-PVLANs, each
egressing frame has an added 802.1Q tag with the VID corresponding to
the frame‟s originating D-PVLAN. This is preset to 4000+(D-PVLAN ID
It is recommended that these default VIDs be used whenever possible.
However, in applications where a P-Trunk port is to be connected to an
external switch or a router (see Figure 16 and Figure 17 on page 30), the
VIDs need to be set to match the corresponding VLANs on the external
switch/router.
range, which is carried out in the Advanced tab. Any modified VIDs are
displayed in bold.
Note: Any D-PVLAN VID modifications in the Advanced tab are common
for all local P-Trunk ports. The modified D-PVLAN VIDs are used only
locally (by the ETHER-1000 LAN switch).
The user must ensure that none of the D-PVLAN VIDs used on local
P-Trunk ports are matching any of the QVLAN IDs used on local
Q-Access and Q-Trunk ports. If this engineering rule is violated, an
alarm is produced and the affected VID is displayed in red to
The tagged frames ingressing a P-Trunk port are placed into respective
D-PVLANs based on the VID carried in their (outer) tag. The (outer) tag is
removed on ingress. Any untagged frames are blocked. Also, any tagged
frames whose (outer) VID does not match any of the VIDs associated with
the D-PVLANs selected in the VLANs tab are blocked.
