that the rail car will not move due to the movement of the
lift truck in and out of the rail car.
• Check the condition of the driving surface. Make sure the
floor will support the weight of the lift truck and the load.
• Make sure the dock board is secured, in good condition,
and of the proper capacity.
• When entering a rail car, the operator can enter at an angle
(if the dock plate or bridge is wide enough). This will reduce
the turning required after entering.
• Never leave a parked truck on a dock plate.

Attachments

NOTE: Make sure the Nameplate is correct if an attach-
ment has been installed.
If an attachment is installed on the lift truck, make sure the
operating instructions are available and understood before
operating the attachment. For the operation of attachment
control levers, see Figure 9, Figure 10, and Table 3.
Attachments must be removed or installed by trained per-
sonnel only.
Disconnecting Attachment Hydraulic Quick-
Disconnect Hoses
NOTE: Step 1 through Step 4 is to be used for lift trucks
equipped with electro-hydraulics.
1. Turn the key switch or keyless switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
NOTE: If the Quick-Disconnect hose connectors cannot be
disconnected, repeat Step 3 and Step 4. If the hoses still
cannot be disconnected, notify service personnel.
3. Press the plunger button located on the top of the pressure
relief valve, and listen for the flow of hydraulic fluid through
the valve when the button is pressed. See Figure 15.
