    The Juniper Networks SSR130 is a software-driven network appliance that is part of the SSR branch portfolio. The SSR130 features six 1 GbE RJ-45, two 1 GbE RJ-45/SFP combo ports, 16 GB of memory, and a 120 GB enterprise-grade solid-state drive (SSD) for storage.

    Applications, devices, or users cannot initiate any session that does not comply with the authentication policies and access rules. The SSR130 supports session Layer 2 through Layer 5 stateful firewall functions, including DoS/DDoS protection, NAT, encryption, VPN, and traffic filtering.

  • Page 11 The SSR130 supports two 1 GbE RJ-45/SFP combo ports for WAN connectivity. You can connect either an SFP (fiber) or RJ-45 (copper) cable on the 1 GbE RJ-45/SFP combo port. The SSR130 automatically detects the media that is connected on the combo port.

    The SSR130 does not support a redundant power adapter. Cooling System The cooling system of the SSR130 consists of two fans. The fan controller monitors the temperature of the chassis and adjusts the fan speed according to the temperature. The SSR130 appliances have front-to-back airflow.

    General Site Installation Guidelines The following precautions help you plan an acceptable operating environment for your SSR130 appliance and avoid environmentally caused equipment failures: Keep the area around the chassis free from dust. Follow prescribed airflow guidelines to ensure that the cooling system functions properly and that exhaust from other equipment does not blow into the intake vents of the appliance.

    When planning the site for installing an SSR130, you must allow sufficient clearance around the installed chassis. For the operating temperature of the SSR130 to be optimal, the airflow around the chassis must be unrestricted. For service personnel to remove and install hardware components, and to accommodate the interface and power cable bend radius, there must be adequate space at the front and rear of the appliance.

  • Page 36 Using a grounding cable with an incorrectly attached lug can damage the appliance. You ground the SSR130 by connecting a grounding cable to earth ground and then attaching the grounding cable to the chassis grounding point located on the rear of the appliance.

    The SSR130 appliances are configured from an existing Session Smart Router (SSR) Conductor. Configure the SSR130 Appliance from the SSR Conductor The SSR Conductor is an instance that is used to manage the appliances you configure within the same Authority. It offers centralized administration, provisioning, monitoring, analytics, and lifecycle management of the appliances.
