CALIBRATE WHEEL SIZE (OPTIONAL)
Wheel size calibration is part of the performance measurement system. By
calibrating the vehicle's movement to a real-world, 'known' distance, the ITC kit
can provide a much more accurate reading of distance and speed beyond the
capabilities of the vehicle's CAN network. Since the vehicle cannot internally
compensate for factors such as tread wear and tyre changes, this calibration
process ensures that measurements are as accurate as possible to the actual
specification and condition of the vehicle.
CALIBRATION PROCESS (WITH EXAMPLE SCREENS)
NOTE: 11le Gallbrale Wheel Size tuncaon Is only used for measurements
recorded In the 'Performance Mode' screens. Although callbraUng Ille vehlcle
Is recommended for dala oplalned In these screens, tt Is not required,
1 .
Select "Calibrate Wheel Size" in the Preferences menu
The following distances will appear for selection:
2.
- 330ft
- 660ft
-1/ 4 mile
-1 mile
3.
Select a known distance which you can travel for in a straight
line. This could be a section of road with markings or a strip. It is
important that this distance closely matches the chosen option
so that measurements are accurate.
NOTE: Only one dlslance needs lo be selected for callbratlon, atthough
selec:llng a longer distance wlll provide a more accurate reading,
4.
Once a distance has been selected, "Set Start Position" will ap
pear on-screen. You may now navigate to the start position of the
location which you have chosen to calibrate the vehicle.
5.
Press the "Set Start Position" screen to begin measuring and
drive the chosen distance. "Set End Position" will appear on
screen whilst measuring is taking place.
6.
Once the end-point has been reached, press the "Set End
Position" screen to stop measuring.
7.
The screen will display "Calibration Complete" if the calibration
has been successful.
If calibration is unsuccessful, the screen will display "Calibration
8.
Failed". This will occur if the recorded measurement is+/- 25%
of the vehicle's CAN measurement for the given distance. To
retry, simply begin the calibration process again, making sure that
the correct distance has been selected.
