Checking the refrigerant circuit for leaks

Danger
The refrigerant is a non-poison-
ous gas that displaces air.
Unregulated escape of refriger-
ant in enclosed spaces can result
in difficulties in breathing and suf-
focation.
■ Ensure adequate ventilation in
enclosed rooms.
■ Observe and adhere to regula-
tions and guidelines about han-
dling refrigerant.
Danger
Direct contact with refrigerant
can harm skin.
Wear safety goggles and protec-
tive gloves when working on the
refrigerant circuit.
Note
Work on the refrigerant circuit must
only be carried out by qualified person-
nel (in accordance with Ordinances EC
842/2006 and 303/2008).

Filling and venting on the primary side

1. Check the floor area, valves and all
visible solder joints for traces of oil.
Note
Traces of oil indicate a leaking refrig-
erant circuit. Have your heat pump
checked over by a refrigeration engi-
neer.
2. Check the heat pump interior with a
refrigerant leak detector or leak
detecting spray for refrigerant leaks.
If there are any leaks, have the compact
heat pump checked by a refrigeration
engineer.
2. Fill the primary circuit with
