    Installation in potentially wet or humid rooms such as bathrooms must be carried out by a suitably qualified installer and comply with local electrical safety requirements. If in doubt, do not install.     For permanent installation (i.e. not using a stand), the Herschel CALIFORNIA must be located in a position to allow proper and efficient use but one that ensures hot parts are not touched accidentally. The recommended installation height of the CALIFORNIA...

    is 1.8m - 2.4m (71”-95”) from the floor. Under no circumstances is the unit to be installed at less than 1.8m (71”) from the floor. Consideration should be given to any temporary or occasional additions such as stages or platforms and adjusted accordingly. For outdoor use, or other areas with air movement/wind the directional Infrared spread may reduce by 1/3 to 1/2.

    • California 2000R is equipped with an overheat switch which will cut power to the heater if it senses an overheat in the electronics. Please let the heater cool down for 15 minutes before attempting to restart.
  • Page 6: Warranty

    Note however in accordance with Ecodesign standards, the CALIFORNIA 2000R model will switch itself off if left operating continuously for 168 hours (1 week). Herschel is not responsible for any breach of the legislation where the CALIFORNIA is used indoors in such a way as to put it within scope of the EcoDesign Directive.
