4. CONNECTING DECT RADIO BASE STATIONS TO F1 PBXs

4.1

PRESENTATION

The F1 range includes the following PBXs:
MC 6501-R (OCT3 or OCT3b processor card)
MC 6501L (OCT3 or OCT3b processor card)
The following cards are used to connect DECT radio base stations to S0 interface cards:
LD4 card
LS1 card
4.2
BASE STATION SYNCHRONIZATION
Since the appearance of LD4 cards, there are two base station synchronization modes:
synchronization by additional pair
synchronization by S-frame m-bit
4.2.1
SYNCHRONIZATION BY ADDITIONAL PAIR
This mode is used in configurations using only LS1 cards or LS1 cards combined with LD4
cards.
One base station is then declared "master" and the others "slave" (whether 2 or 4 channel).
The clock signal is transmitted by the master base station to the slave base stations.
4.2.2
SYNCHRONIZATION BY M-BIT OF THE S-FRAME
This configuration requires exclusive use of the LD4 card in the system.
The principle is as follows:
The system must only include one "master" card. The master card can be either an
LD4 or an OCT3b card (an OCT3 card must always be slave).
The master card then transmits the DECT clock signal via the back plane to the
slave cards. Each LD4 card then transmits the DECT clock to the base stations via
the m-bit of the S-frame.
