CABLE REPLACEMENT

CABLE REPLACEMENT
To access the Spool in order to change the line, please follow the
direction for "Removing the Spool Cover and Replacing the Spool".
Once the cover is removed and the Spool is accessible, continue to
replace the cable by following the instructions below.

a. With the Spool Cover removed, carefully remove
the Spool, making sure the Line is pulled free from
the Downrigger Assembly.
b. The Line should be wound in a counterclockwise
direction, pull it in the opposite direction to
unwind it. Unwind the entire Line and remove it.
c. There will be a Crimped Sleeve at the end holding
Line in place on the outside of the Spool. Take a
Needle Nose Pliers to grasp the Crimped Sleeve
and pull it away from the Spool. Cut the end of
the Line with a Wire Cutter to remove the Crimped
Sleeve and pull the old Line free.

d. Take the new Spool and turn it so that the Line is
wound in a counterclockwise direction.
e. Insert the end of the Line into the hole in the Center
of the Spool so that it exits the outside of the Spool.
Place a new Crimped Sleeve on the end of the Line
and pull it tight into the center of the Spool.
f. Take the Spool and turn it so that the Line is wound
in a counterclockwise direction. When replacing
the Spool, make sure that the Line is wound
counterclockwise and Exits the Downrigger Assembly.
Replace the Spool following the directions provided
in the "Removing the Spool Cover and Replacing the
Spool" section of this manual.
g. Carefully keep tension on the Line and use the
Up Switch to Wrap the Line around the Spool.
h. To finish the downrigger Line, please see the
"Terminating the Downrigger" section of
this manual.
