POSITIVE ION CONTROL
MEASuRING ThE ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL OF YOuR BOAT
A voltmeter with a scale of zero to one volts will measure the electrical potential of your boat.

a. Place the ground lead of the voltmeter on the
motor or the battery ground.
b. Place the positive lead of the voltmeter on the
stainless steel downrigger line while it is in the
water. The downrigger must be unplugged.
c. The voltage measured on the volt meter is your
boat's natural electrolysis voltage.
MEASuRING ThE PIC VOLTAGE ON YOuR BOAT
A voltmeter with a scale of zero to one volt will measure the PIC voltage on your downrigger line.

a. Place the ground lead of the voltmeter on the
motor or the battery ground.
b. Place the positive lead of the voltmeter on
the stainless steel downrigger line while it is in
the water.
c. Apply power to the downrigger.

ShORT STOP

Short Stop automatically stops the weight at the water's surface, preventing the lift motor from raising it into the Pulley
at the end of the Boom. When the downrigger line is in the water, a small electrical current flows between the line and
grounded metal boat components in the water. When the line clears the water, the current flow stops. The Short Stop
system senses this interruption and turns off the motor. The Snap Assembly with Insulator is used to break the Line
contact to the water while the Weight is still in the water. Stopping
the Weight at water level eliminates the Line strain caused by a
bouncing Weight or a Weight hitting the Boom End, and it also
keeps the Weight from swinging into the boat hull. This feature
requires the boat to be properly grounded.

NOTICE:
Volt Meter accuracy and distance of
line (Stainless Steel) to the point the voltage is
measured will affect the results.
NOTICE: Short Stop will only work with stainless steel
Line and will not work when the Line is mono-filament or
braided.
