With the Spool and Spool Gear back in place and
the Line routed accurately, replace the Spool Cover
back in place on the Downrigger Assembly. Be sure
to carefully align the Spool Gear and Counter Gear
and that the 3 Digit Line Counter is seated onto
the Spool Cover. If the 3 Digit Line counter slides
out of place it should be reseated from the inside
of the Spool Cover. Secure the Spool Cover by
tightening the Phillips Head Screws using a
#2 Screwdriver.

Replace the Clutch Knob on the Spool side of
the downrigger.

Rotate the Clutch Knob counterclockwise to install
it on the downrigger.
NOTICE: The Clutch Knob should be turned
counterclockwise to install and tighten. This is also
sometimes called left handed thread.

REPLACING ThE CLuTCh PAD

To replace the Clutch Pad, follow the steps for "Removing the
Spool and Replacing the Spool" in this Manual. Once the Spool is
removed, you have access to the Clutch Pad. Simply pull it off the
Motor Shaft and replace. Reassemble the Spool and Spool Cover in
the reverse order.
WARNING
Do not touch the Spool while the downrigger is in use.
CAuTION
Remove all tension from the Line before removing or
replacing the Clutch Pad.
