Pole
The poles are molded using cycloaliphatic
epoxy resin specially designed for outdoor
use. The vacuum interrupters are encap-
sulated in the pole units. In addition, each
pole contains a current transformer and may
also contain an optional voltage sensor, both
monitoring the lower terminal.
1. Upper terminal with SAE 3/4-10 UNC
2A threaded connector (usually line
side)
2. Integrated current transformer (CT)
(lower terminal)
3. Integrated voltage sensor (optional -
connected to lower terminal)
4. Lower terminal with SAE 3/4-10 UNC
2A threaded connector (usually load
side)

Figure 4: Pole sequence (C-B-A or 3-2-1 when
The sequence of the poles is C - B - A
(sequence left to right when viewed from the
lower terminal side of the recloser switch unit
- front of recloser) (refer to Figure 4). This is
marked on the operating mechanism housing
by identification indents (A = 1 indent, B = 2
indents and C = 3 indents). This sequence
identifies the currents IA, IB and IC of the
controller. The phase sequence may be
changed to match the system phase
sequence using the control and protection
relay software.
