Dress appropriately. Do not use this machine barefoot
or with sandals. Always wear sturdy shoes and long
pants.
Hold the machine with both hands on the handlebar
and always position your body behind the machine.
Keep all parts of the body away from moving parts
when the machine is in operation. Before starting the
machine, make sure that the blade is not in contact
with any object. A moment of carelessness while
operating the machine can cause your clothing or
other body parts to be damaged by the blade of the
tool.
If the machine vibrates abnormally, stop the engine
and inspect the machine for the possible cause and
repair it. If you cannot find the reason, take your
machine to your technical service.
Do not touch the exhaust of the machine
with the engine running or just after it has
been stopped.
The exhaust from this machine reaches high
temperatures during engine operation and remains for
a few minutes after the engine stops. Make sure the
machine is off when cleaning up material debris.
Do not leave this machine in operation unattended. If
you have to leave the machine unattended turn off the
engine, wait for the cutting tool to stop and unplug the
spark plug wire
Store inactive tools out of the reach of children.
The noise caused by this machine can damage
your hearing. Wear ear protectors. If you regularly
work with this machine, visit your doctor regularly to
check your hearing ability.
Attention !: When working with hearing protection
you should be more careful with the visual signals as
the auditory ones will be weaker.
2.2.2. VIBRATIONS
The prolonged use of the machine, exposes the
client to vibrations that in extreme cases and through
many hours of use of the machine could cause the
¨white finger syndrome¨ also known as Raynaud
phenomenon. This causes a reduction in the tact of
the fingers and their capacity to regulate temperature
generating a lack of sensibility. This sickness could
in extreme cases cause problems with the nerve
endings.
The exposure to the vibrations is the cause of
the white finger syndrome. To minimise this
effect as much as possible, follow the following
recommendations:
- Always use gloves
- Always have your hands warm
- Take frequent breaks
- Always hold the machine tightly by the handles
If you detect any of the symptoms of the white finger
syndrome, consult immediately with your doctor.
2.3. SAFETY IN THE WORK AREA
Do not operate this machine in explosive
atmospheres as well as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases and dust.
Never start this machine in closed areas
such as bedrooms or garages. This
machine expels dangerous gases through
the exhaust that will accumulate in the area, making
the air in the same toxic and harmful to the health of
people, animals and plants that are inside the area.
