Your Elna Elnita is easy
to understand
The Instruction Manual is intended to make you
familiar with your Elna Elnita and its operation. In
addition, you can obtain Elna Sewing Booklets and
Brochures from Elna Distributors for a modest sum.
Here are its essential parts:

3-position safety dial. Your Elna Elnita is delivered
with the dial set at the safe position, " O ". In this
position the mechanism is locked. The machine
cannot be started inadvertently. The two other
positions are sewing " { " and bobbin winding " IL".
Turn the safety dial to the sewing position
Stitch length dial
Stitch width dial
for Elna Elnita-zz (zig zag)
and Elna Elnita-sp (special)
Stitch selector—for Elna Elnita-sp (special) only
Rotary hook cover.
Built-in sewing light.
Input 15 W maximum.
You will find that everything is ready for your
everyday sewing jobs:

The sewing foot for the usual straight and zigzag
stitches.
A number 80 needle (medium size).
The thread tension at the " Universal " position, No. 5.
There is no longer any need to change the
pressure of the sewing foot since it is suitable
for both sheer and heavy materials.
10 Thread take-up lever.
11 Bobbin winder.
12 Retractable spool pin.
13 Flywheel.
14 Light switch.
15 Specification plate. Make sure that the voltage
(volts) is the same as that indicated on the light
bulbs in your home.
16 Electric foot control and cord. Insert the plug into
the machine so that the cords lead towards the
rear of the machine.
Try out your Elna Elnita by running it for a few
turns without thread. The further you press down
the foot control's moveable button, the faster your
Elnita will run.

In accordance with the terms of the guarantee, he is

Safety:
In accordance with the recommendations of
electrical safety-, standards- and control
authorities, the sewing machine must be dis-
connected from the main supply by removing
the plug from the socket-outlet whenever:
— the machine is left unattended,
— the machine is being serviced,
— mechanical parts are changed,
— accessories are changed.
