    Setup Requirement In order to setup PRC2401U you need to ensure the following item in the list is available. • Internet Access (DSL, Modem or existing Wireless Router). • Ethernet Cable with RJ45 connector at both end.

    In the previous chapter, we have made a network hardware connection setup between Computer and PRC2401U through LAN port. In this chapter, it guides user on how to check TCP/IP setup before getting started, how to logging into the PRC2401U Web User Interface configuration and PROLiNK mConnect Apps and guide on using Quick Setup Wizard.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U come with three operation mode available for user choose base on network infrastructure. Operation mode available is Router Mode, Access Point Mode and Repeater Mode. For the first time entering the PRC2401U web utility, you are recommended to complete the Setup Wizard. Router Mode 1.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Settings Operation Mode On the side panel, under Settings menu, you can change the router mode by click on operation mode. There is three option can be choose which is Router Mode, Access Point (AP) Mode and Repeater Mode.

This operation mode is ideal for the user that required to extend the coverage further without neglecting the Internet performance.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Wireless Enter the Wireless Setting by click on the Wireless on the side panel. In the Wireless Setting it consists of setting for Wi-Fi and Guest. Wi-Fi By default, Smart Connect enables at the beginning of the setting. In the Wi-Fi setting, the user has an option for Smart Connect, 2.4GHz, 5GHz and WPS.

Each band is allowed to enable 3 Guest wireless for each of the frequency band. Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Guest wireless have the same configuration parameters.

    Network Settings • Device Access Link: By default the device link to access the router’s configuration web utility configuration is http://prc2401u.local. The Device Access Link may be change according to user choice. • IP Address: Enter the LAN IP Address of the router. By default the LAN IP Address is 192.168.123.254.

By default the setting is set to Enable. • Client Range: Enter the range of the starting and ending for IP Address of DHCP Server’s IP Address assignment.

If enable, each of the VLAN ID service can be set with priority.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Features Quality of Service (QoS) function is to improve data flow. It allows you to prioritize clients so that high-priority clients receive higher bandwidth compared to other clients. For example, if one client is streaming a movie and another is downloading a non-urgent file, you might wish to assign the former client a higher priority, so that the traffic network of the other devices does not disrupt.

    FIREWALL Firewall feature continuously monitors your Internet traffic, protecting your network and connected devices from malicious Internet attacks. The PRC2401U offers high-grade firewall features like SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection). • Enable DMZ: Enable and disable DMZ. Enable this feature will expose a single computer to the Internet.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Port Forwarding Port Forwarding allow you to automatically redirect common network services to a specific machine behind the NAT firewall. Port Forwarding allows you to specify a specific port for a specific device on the specific application to directed to a specific client.

When you click on Add Rule, the Create New Rule window will open. Enter the required information into the fields described if you wish to remove a rule, click on its trash can icon in the Delete column.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Web Filtering Web Filtering ALLOW rule restricts client’s access to only specified web sites. Web Filtering DENY rule blocks specified web sites from client’s access. You can use Web Filtering to limit client’s access to potentially harmful and inappropriate websites.

The Web Filtering page allows you to create a list of websites that may be viewed by specified users or blocked from those users. Under Website URL/Domain, enter the URL or Domain.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Dynamic DNS Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) is method to updating server name which will allow you to assign fixed host and domain name to dynamic Internet IP Address. DDNS help you to host FTP Server, website and other server on the router.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Parental Control Setting Parental Control client list will automatically update according to the connected client. By default, all the connected client Parental Control status is OFF. To enable the Parental Control, click Edit, and change the Parental Control status to ON to enable the Parental Control on the client.

System setting consist of Admin setting and System setting. Admin Admin setting section allowed you to edit the Administrative password of the Web User Interface login page.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router Time and Date Router's time is used for System Data Logging and Schedule function. The date and time can be synchronized with an Internet Network Time Server (NTP), or to set manually.

    PROLiNK® PRC2401U Wireless AC2600 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router System Log • Enable Logging to Syslog Server: Enable to send the router logs to a SysLog Server. If this is disabled, there will be no other options on this page. • Syslog Server IP Address: Enter the IP address for the Syslog server. If the Syslog server is connected to the router, you can select it from the drop-down menu to automatically populate the field.
