- Page 10 2A-1 Position the wall plate template [05] at your desired height, level the wall plate template and mark the pilot hole locations. 2A-2 Drill 6 pilot holes using a 3/8 in.(10mm)diameter drill bit. Make sure the depth is not less than 2 3/4 in.(70mm).
