ZR Series Quick Tip Technical Note Filters for Oxygen Probes Many industries use a variety of fuel sources such as natural gas, coal, oil, trash, and biomass to fire their processes. When burned, coal and biomass release a significant amount of carbon particulate known as fly ash. This fly ash can plug the zirconia cell, resulting in a slow response or no response to changes in the oxygen concentration.
