A clamp inside each slot keeps t he power wire t ight ly in place during operat ion. The DC power supply
connect or has side screws t hat can be used t o remove t he connect or if required.
Installing DC Power Source Wire Leads
These inst ruct ions describe how t o connect your 3-wire DC power source t o t he power connect or on your
DC power supply. A small f lat -t ip screwdriver and a wire st ripper are required f or t his procedure.
1.
Prepare t he t hree (3) wires— 12 gauge— t hat will plug int o t he power suppl y. First make sure t hey are
not plugged int o t he DC power source. Next , use a wire st ripper t o caref ully st rip bet ween . 24 and
. 30 inches (6-7. 5 mm) of f t he end of each wire, removing t he out er insulat ion t o expose t he copper
core.

Open t he clamp f or t he ground wire slot by insert ing a small f lat -t ip screwdriver int o t he t op of t he
appropriat e circular hole. Loosen t he screw so t hat t he clamp f or t he ground wire opens.

Insert t he ground wire lead int o t he slot . The lead you insert must mat ch t he lead at t ached t o t he
DC power source. Push t he wire in f ar enough such t hat it reaches t he back wall of t he connect or,
about a half inch inside.
Warning. You must plug DC wire leads int o t he correct holes in t he DC power connect or. Use t he
labels above t he DC power connect or as a guide t o posit ive, negat ive, and ground connect ions. If
t he wire leads are plugged int o t he wrong holes, t he power supply will not work properly and
damage t o t he unit may result .

Tight en t he clamp by t ight ening t he screw above t he slot int o which you insert ed t he wire lead. The
wire lead should be securely at t ached inside t he connect or. You should be able t o pull on t he wire
and not disl odge it .
Warning. For bot h -24V and -48V input volt ages, t he posit ive (+) wire of t he sourcing equipment ,
such as a bat t ery or rect if ier, must be connect ed t o t he posit ive (+) t erminal of t he DC power
supply and t he negat ive (-) wire of t he sourcing equipment must be connect ed t o t he negat ive (-)
