6. Connecting the Heading Sensor (Optional)

Use the following instructions to mount a heading sensor to your MEGA Live ICE
adapter base.
1. With the image of an arrow on your heading sensor pointing away from the
shaft, align the heading sensor's screw holes over the screw holes on the MEGA
Live ICE adapter base.
2. Attach the heading sensor to the ice adapter base using the two #8 - 32 x 1 1/4
screws and two #8 - 32 hex nuts included with your accessory. Do not overtighten.
NOTE: For accurate heading sensor readings, the arrow on your Heading Sensor
should point toward the front of your MEGA Live ICE assembly. Adjust the alignment
of the adapter base by loosening the top depth collar and rotating the base as needed
before retightening the depth collar.

7. Connect the Cables

The MEGA Live ICE transducer comes with quick disconnect cables so that you can
quickly and easily disconnect your MEGA Live ICE transducer from your ICE HELIX
control head and shuttle.
WARNING! The power source must be turned off before you proceed with this
installation.
NOTE: See the ICE HELIX Installation Guide for more information about connecting
the battery, the power switch and the HELIX cable tray.
WARNING! The MEGA Live ICE Imaging transducer should be connected
to a battery switch. Humminbird does not recommend connecting to a battery
without a fuse and a switch.
NOTE: Humminbird is not responsible for over-voltage or over-current failures.
The MEGA ICE Live Imaging transducer must have adequate protection through the
proper selection and installation of a 2 Amp fuse.
WARNING! If you are unable to obtain a battery switch and are forced to connect
the power cable directly to the battery, be aware that this will drain the battery.
Humminbird does not recommend connecting to a battery without the appropriate
fuse and a switch.
