11.22 Issue one 1:5 ON mode command
(I20). Confirm that the 1:5 processing is on.
11.23 Issue one 1:5 OFF mode command
(IA0). Confirm that the 1:5 processing is off.
11.24 Issue one 1:5 TOGGLE command
(I68). Confirm that the 1:5 processing is
toggled.
11.25 Issue one DRC ON command (I9A).
Confirm that the Dynamic Range Compres-
sion is on.
11.26 Issue one DRC OFF command (I78).
Confirm that the DRC is off.
11.27 Issue one DRC TOGGLE command
(IE8). Confirm that the DRC is toggled.
11.28 Issue one FEQ ON command (IF3).
Confirm that the Film EQ is on.
11.29 Issue one FEQ OFF command (IF4).
Confirm that the FEQ is off.
11.30 Issue one FEQ TOGGLE command
(I5A). Confirm that the FEQ is toggled. You
must be in Video 1, Video 2, Aux or Tape to
do this.
11.31 Issue one MUTE command (I80).
Confirm that the unit mutes.
11.32 Issue one VOLUME UP command
(IC0). Confirm that from the mute state, the
volume up command will unmute the ampli-
fier and increase the volume.
Note: The following tests will check the
default behavior of the FEQ and DRC func-
tions by verifying that both features are on
when a source change to VIDEO is per-
formed and off when a source change to CD
or AM/FM is performed. Perform these steps
with the TA-1 amplifier EXT DIP switch in the
down position.
13.33 Turn the TA-1 amplifier on by issuing
one CD mode command (ICA). Confirm that
the FEQ and DRC are off.

13.34 Issue one VIDEO 1 mode command
(I70). Confirm that the FEQ and DRC are on.
13.35 Issue one VIDEO 2 mode command
(IB0). Confirm that the FEQ and DRC are on.
13.36 Issue one AUX mode command (IF0)
with an analog signal present. Confirm that
the FEQ and DRC are off.
13.37 Issue one AUX mode command (IF0)
with an AC-3 signal present. Confirm that the
FEQ and DRC are on.
13.38 Issue one TAPE mode command (I4A).
Confirm that the FEQ and DRC are off.
13.39 Issue one AM/FM command (I60).
Confirm that the FEQ and DRC are off.
13.40 Issue one CD mode command (ICA).
Confirm that the FEQ and DRC are off.
13.41 With the amplifier still in CD mode,
confirm that the FEQ state cannot be
changed by issuing one FEQ ON command
(IF3). Switch to AM/FM mode by issuing one
AM/FM mode command (I60) and confirm
that the FEQ state cannot be changed.
13.42 Switch to VIDEO 1 by issuing one
VIDEO 1 mode command (I70). Confirm that
the FEQ state can be changed in this mode.
Repeat this step with VIDEO 2 (IB0), AUX
(IF0) and TAPE (I4A) modes as well.
