Replacing a DSPM Module
Purpose
This document describes how to replace a DSPM module in a Spirent Vertex
channel emulator.
NOTE:
Before replacing a DSPM module in a Vertex channel emulator, make sure the
Vertex channel emulator is powered off and the power cord is disconnected from the
AC power receptacle.
Before You Begin
Before replacing a DSPM module, make sure you have:
the new DSPM module
•
a #1 or #2 Phillips-head screwdriver
•
NOTE:
Removal of a DSPM module is not slot dependent.

  • Page 5 Application Note: Replacing a DSPM Module in a Spirent Vertex Channel Emulator 6. Carefully slide out the DSPM module from the Vertex chassis. WARNING! The DSPM module is heavy. Be careful not to damage the module while you are pulling it out of the Vertex unit.

  • Page 7 Application Note: Replacing a DSPM Module in a Spirent Vertex Channel Emulator 9. Slowly slide the new DSPM module into the appropriate slot in the Vertex chassis. NOTE: Make sure the new DSPM module is resting on the module tracks as you slide in the module.
  • Page 8 12. Connect the power cord of the Vertex unit to the AC power receptacle. 13. Press the power switch on the rear panel of the Vertex unit to power on the unit. 14. Press the power switch on the front panel of the Vertex unit to power on the unit.
