Replacing an RF Module

Purpose

This document describes how to replace an RF module in a Spirent Vertex
emulator.
NOTE:
Before replacing an RF module in a Vertex channel emulator, make sure the Vertex
channel emulator is powered off and the power cord is disconnected from the AC
power receptacle.

Before You Begin

Before replacing an RF module, make sure you have:
the new RF module
•
a #1 or #2 Phillips-head screwdriver
•
NOTE:
Removal of an RF module is not slot dependent.

Remove the new RF module from its shipping box. 8. Place the defective RF module in the shipping box of the new RF module.
  • Page 6 Application Note: Replacing an RF Module in a Spirent Vertex Channel Emulator 9. Slowly slide the new RF module into the appropriate slot in the Vertex chassis. NOTE: Make sure the new RF module is resting on the module tracks as you slide in the module.
  • Page 7 12. Connect the power cord of the Vertex unit to the AC power receptacle. 13. Press the power switch on the rear panel of the Vertex unit to power on the unit. 14. Press the power switch on the front panel of the Vertex unit to power on the unit.
