Quick guide for Rotronic HL-1D data logger
Congratulations with your new Rotronic HL-1D logger for measurement of relative humidity and
temperature. For your comfort we have gathered some of the frequently asked questions in this small
quick guide.
Battery
In your package there is a CR2 battery for your device. Use a coin to open/close the battery cover on the
back side of the logger and install the battery in the battery slot.
The battery has a life expectancy up to 3 years, but in the end of the battery lifetime the logger might
show incorrect data due to limited power. It is recommended to change the battery after 1.5 years (or
less depending on climate conditions, battery type, and frequency of use).
On or Off
Turn on: press the "Start/Stop" shortly - your logger is now in "view mode".
Turn off: press the "Start/Stop" shortly - your logger is now off (only possible when not in LOG mode)
Logging (LOG mode)
Start logging: Press the "Start/Stop" for 3 seconds - your logger is now in data logging mode/LOG mode
(The "LOG" symbol is visible when activated)
Stop logging: Press the "Start/Stop" for 3 seconds - your logger is now in "view mode", but your data is
saved on the device
Green and Red lamp (in LOG mode only)
Green lamp flashing: The LOG mode is activated
Red lamp flashing (Alarm): The temperature or humidity is either too high or too low compared to the
settings. Check the screen if it is too hot or cold. Alternatively, the battery is too low.
Quick check of data
Press the "Max/Min/AVG" button to check the: maximum, minimum or average data logged on the
HL-1D. Only possible when LOG mode is activated.
Set up your device and read data:
Included in your product is access to the analysis and programming software HW4 Lite, which can read
the data and compare it with up to 3 loggers at the same time. Please refer to the detailed manual and
the quick guide when opening the program.
You connect your logger with your computer via a USB cable (not included). Use a coin to open the
cover on the back side of your logger and connect the cable to your devices.
To set specific/different settings on your device, please connect your device to your computer and
download the HW4 Lite from Rotronic (www.rotronic.com).
Docusave recommend the following settings for archival use: 45-55% Relative Humidity and 14-18
