Excessive Wheel Motor Case Drain Flow
Cause
Excessive internal wear in wheel motor.
Noisy Gear Pump Caused by Cavitation
Cause
Oil too heavy.
Suction line restricted.
Air leak in suction line.
Foaming Oil
Cause
Low oil level.
Air leak in suction line.
Wrong kind of oil.
Front (Rear) Reels Will Not Turn
Cause
Solenoid Valve MSV1 (MSV2) not shifting.
Hydraulic System
Correction
Disassemble motor completely. Inspect parts and
replace as necessary. Case drain flow should not
exceed 2 gal/m (7.6 L/m) at full pressure.
Correction
Change to proper viscosity oil.
Check for bent or collapsed suction line. Check suction
screen in reservoir for blockage - drain and clean
reservoir if necessary.
Tighten fittings or repair suction plumbing.
Correction
Fill reservoir.
Tighten fittings or repair suction plumbing.
Drain and flush system. Fill with correct oil.
Correction
Do electrical diagnostics to make sure that voltage is
being applied to MSV1 (MSV2) and that there is no
electrical fault. See Chapter 5 - Electrical System.
Test solenoid coil. Replace if faulty. See Chapter 5 -
Electrical System.
Do cartridge valve service procedure for valve MSV1
(MSV2).
Interchange MSV1 and MSV2 and check operation.
