Installation

Intended use
The zone module, external powered, is operated on the
FDnet. Either a collective detector line or a
conventional detector line can be connected to the
input.
Housing FDCH221 (accessories) is available to protect
the module from environmental influences like moisture
and humidity.
Installing the zone module
The zone module can be installed as follows:
In housing FDCH221 (Fig. 2...4)

On a DIN rail (Fig. 1) in a fire control panel

Installation in housing FDCH221 (Fig. 2...4)
NOTICE
Zone module use in a damp, wet or dusty
environment
Damage to zone module from dust or jet of
water
· In damp, wet or dusty environments, install
the zone module in housing FDCH221.
1. Open housing (Fig. 2).
2. Determine cable entries in housing and break them
open.
3. Use two screws to fit the housing on a plane surface
(Fig. 2).
4. Secure the M20 x 1.5 cable glands on the housing
and guide in the cables (Fig. 3).
5. Use two M3 x 12 screws to fit the zone module in the
housing.
6. Close housing using supplied screws (Fig. 4).

NOTICE
High temperatures in the zone module's
environment
Zone module overheating and damage
· A minimum clearance of 1 cm must be
observed between two zone modules or
between the module and any other
boundary.
1. Fit two FDCM291 mounting feet to the zone module.
2. Press the zone module against the DIN rail with the
mounting feet until the feet snap in.

Electrical connection (Fig. 5...7)
1. Connect the cables to the terminals according to the
pin assignment (Fig. 7). Only connect one wire per
terminal.
The secondary side must always be supplied
with power via an external supply in
accordance with EN 54-4.
2. Connect the end-of-line (EOL). This must be
connected at the end of the line (Fig. 5 Transzorb
diode, Fig. 6 EOL22(Ex)).
3. Fix the cables to the zone module using cable ties
(max. width 2.6 mm).
