PROBLEM

AIRLOCK
PROBLEM
Noisy airlock.
Airlock stalls.
Air loss through airlock.
Breaking rotor blades.
CAUSE
Poor oil quality.
Defective hose or tube.
Improper circuit.
Wrong airlock speed.
Too much flow.
Airlock too tight.
CAUSE
Tips hitting case.
Airlock jammed.
Insufficient oil flow.
Airlock operated in reverse too
long.
Blades too tight.
Faulty airlock motor.
Faulty flow divider.
Faulty pressure relief valve.
Tip clearance too large.
Airlock running in reverse.
SOLUTION
Replace with oil of required
specifications.
Check hoses, lines and couplers.
Repair or replace as required.
Check for proper system setting.
i.e. open or close.
Check for speed control valve. If
oil flow continues at 0 setting,
repair or replace valve.
If flow from engine is set at 30
gpm, reduce to 15 gpm.
Adjust airlock tips.
SOLUTION
Readjust tips where applicable
Reverse airlock direction to clear.
Remove obstruction from airlock
by opening inspection door or
discharge elbow. Disconnect
hydraulic hoses.
Check couplings or lines.
Defective engine hydraulics.
Repair engine.
Rotor damaged. Repair or
replace rotor.
Loosen bolts. Refer to airlock
maintenance.
Replace motor.
Replace flow divider.
Replace pressure relief valve.
Adjust tips to decrease clearance
to 0.006 inches.
Set for forward rotation. Repair or
replace blades.
