Installation and Mounting: Instructions
Step-1. Refer to the Dodge Service Manual to remove the side mirrors from the vehicle. Note: The mounting brackets for the M180 on the
Dodge Durango are Passenger & Driver Side Specific. The illustrations going forward are showing the passenger side assembly but the
driver side mounting process is the same.
Step-2. Locate the Passenger Side Mounting Bracket as shown in the view of the underside of the mirror in Figure 1. The wider end of the
LED mounting flange and the small angled mounting flange go toward the front of the vehicle (in this case toward the left side of the picture).
There is a small tab on the bracket at the left in Figure 1 that hooks around the edge of the mirror's plastic mounting flange and locates the
bracket on the mirror left/right. Hold the back edge of the bracket 1/8" away from the edge of the mirror housing as shown in Figure 1. Make
sure you hold the bracket tight in position against the plastic mirror body so it does not move while you are using the bracket as a template.
Drill (2) 9/64 (.141)" diameter holes through the plastic mirror housing at the (2) smaller hole locations in the bracket for the mounting screws
and drill (1) 9/32 (.281)" diameter hole at the larger hole location for the cable hole.
Step-3. Feed the Light Head Cable through the two holes in the bracket and orient the light head up against the mounting flange of the
bracket (See Figure 2). Note: The gasket that comes with the light head is not required.
Step-4. Making sure the 3 Puddle LEDs are oriented correctly (See Note on Figure 2), thread (2) of the supplied 3.50mm X 0.6mm X 6mm
long Philips pan head machine screws with (2) #6 split lock washers through the clearance holes in the bracket and into the threaded
mounting holes in the back of the light head (See Figure 3).
Step-5. Pull the vehicles foam gasket away from the mirror assembly being careful not to damage it. Twist the light head cable wires together
and feed the light head wires/cable through the 9/32" hole in the vehicle's mirror housing drilled in step 2, and pull the wires through the hole
in the die cast mounting bracket as shown in Figure 4.
Step-6. Feed the light head wires and cable through the hole in the foam gasket. Feed all remaining slack through the gasket until the light is
nearly in position. Reattach the foam gasket as shown in Figure 5.
Step-7. Fasten the light head bracket to the vehicle's mirror housing using (2) of the supplied #8 X 1/2" long sheet metal screws (See Figure
6 and Figure 7).
Note: Tighten the screws to 10in-lbs +/- 1in-lb [1.13Nm +/- 0.11Nm] ensure that the bracket is up against the plastic mirror housing!
Do not over tighten the screws as they could strip out the plastic!
Step-8. Feed the light head cable and the vehicle's mirror wires back into the vehicle. Carefully relocate the mirror back into position and
refasten the mirror to the vehicle. Route customer supplied wires to connect to the light head wires and connect to the desired vehicle power
source.
