Section 4 - Configuration
This section will allow you to configure advanced VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) settings.
Most users can safely ignore this section. Your ISP or VoIP service should provide you with
this information.
Advanced Setup
DTMF Settings:
Dual-tone multi-frequency signaling (DTMF or "touch tones") are
used for dialing numbers. Choose in-band to have DTMF tones mixed
with the user's voice in RTP packets - similar to a convention phone.
Choose RFC2833 to encapsulate DTMF tones in separate RTP packets
as specified in RFC 2833.
DTMF Relay PT:
If you have selected RFC2833, select the DTMF Payload Type
(encoding) according to RFC 3551.
Begin RTP Port:
Select a port number to begin searching for an open RTP port. The
router will increment from this port number until it finds a connection.
Media Settings
Configure your VoIP1 and VoIP2 ports with the settings below. You
can configure each line separately.
Coding Type:
Enable or disable different coding schemes. This information should
be provided by your VoIP provider. All are enabled by default.
Enable Coding
Select a preference order for the different encoding schemes. The
Priority(1-16):
lower the number, the higher the priority.
RTP Period(ms):
Indicates the time out (in milliseconds) for RTP packets. The default
setting is 20 ms.
