5. If the measurement does not fall within the specified
range, loosen the jam nuts at both ends of the tie
rods (Figure 62).

6. Rotate both tie rods to move the front of the tire
inward or outward.
Note: The tie rods should be the same length when
you are finished.
7. Tighten the tie rod jam nuts when the adjustment is
correct.
8. Ensure that there is full travel of the steering wheel
in both directions.

Brake Maintenance

Checking the Brake Fluid

The brake fluid reservoir is shipped from the factory
filled with DOT 3 brake fluid. Check the level before
starting the engine each day.
1. Brake fluid reservoir
1. Position the sprayer on a level surface, set the parking
brake, stop the pump, stop the engine, and remove
the ignition key.
2. The fluid level should be up to the Full line on the
reservoir (Figure 64).
1. Full line
3. If the fluid level is low, clean the area around the
reservoir cap, remove the cap, and fill the reservoir
to the proper level. Do not overfill.
