Troubleshooting

Cause
Check with the naked eye whether there is an obstacle.
Check that change lever is in the front of printer.
Check whether the CN12 connector and coil resistance of the
PF motor are as specified. See

Check whether any gear is damaged on the torque
transmission route of PF motor.
Check whether the internal coil resistance is just as specified
and whether the harness is connected properly. See

Operate the carriage by hand and check whether carriage
moves smoothly.
Check tension of timing belt.
Check whether there is an obstacle in carriage route.

Check whether Head FFC is connected properly to CN13 and
CN14 of main board.
Check FFC by tester.
Set new ink cartridge and execute test printing.
Repeat cleaning and test printing alternately several times.

Remedy
Remove the obstacle.
Return the change lever to the back of printer by tweeters or a
small driver.
Connect the PF motor to CN12 on the main board.
Replace the printer mechanism or PF motor.
Replace the damaged gear with a new one.
Replace the CR motor.
Clean the CR guide shaft and lubricate.
Adjust tension or replace the belt.
Remove the obstacle.
Remedy
Connect the FFC correctly.
Replace the FFC.
Replace the ink cartridge.
Replace the head unit.
Clean or replace the head cleaner.
