Frequently Asked Questions (12)

  • What should I do if there is no sound from my Pioneer HTZ-323BD system?

If there is no sound from your system, check the following:

    • If the disc is playing in slow motion or during fast forward/reverse, no sound is output.
    • Ensure cables are properly connected and not damaged. Disconnect and re-insert them firmly. If damaged, replace them.
    • Verify that Audio Output is properly set. Refer to page 58 for details.
    • Check that connected components are properly set and that multi-channel sound is selected if applicable. Use the menu screen or AUDIO button to switch to multi-channel.
    • Confirm speakers are properly connected and check volume settings in Speaker Setup.
    • If there is no sound from the subwoofer, it might be due to the audio signal having no bass component. Check the volume setting in Speaker Setup.

For more information, see page 68 of the manual.

  • How do I set up surround sound speakers with the Pioneer HTZ-323BD system?

To set up surround sound speakers:

    1. Connect the wires to the player by inserting the cables into the same colored connector on the speaker.
    2. Attach non-skid pads to the base of each speaker.
    3. Mount the front/surround speaker by inserting the lower cabinet into the base, ensuring the cable hole is at the back, and then fixing the base to the lower cabinet with four M4 x 16 screws. For the upper cabinet, insert it into the lower cabinet and fix it from the backside with two M4 x 12 screws.

For optimal sound, place all speakers (except the subwoofer) at the same distance from the listening position. The front speakers should be to the sides of the monitor, as flush as possible. The center speaker should be below or in front of the monitor. Surround speakers should be behind your listening position, facing slightly inwards. The subwoofer's position is less critical, but it's better to place it near the front speakers and turn it slightly toward the center of the room.
