Replace CAUTIONS with the following:
CAUTION
WHEN TAKING SIGNATURES, ENSURE THAT THE TEST-NORM SWITCH (A1S2) IS SET TO NORM AND
THAT HEATER TEST JUMPER IS IN THE OFF POSITION. DAMAGE TO THE HIGH VOLTAGE POWER
SUPPLY OR LASER TUBE ASSEMBLY COULD RESULT IF THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT ADHERED TO.
Add "Leave TEST-NORM A1S2 set to NORM." following "high voltage interlock." in step b.
Delete "• TEST-NORM = NORM"
Replace step u with the following:
u. If ending troubleshooting procedures at this point, disconnect power from HP 5517B Laser Head, set all test
jumpers to their left-most (normal) positions, return TEST-NORM switch A1S2 to NORM, and replace laser head
front panel and side covers.
Paragraph 8-140. Photodiode and Amplifier Troubleshooting
Add "Bypass high-voltage interlock by setting A1S2 to TEST" to the beginning of step a.
Change step f to read as follows:
f. If ending troubleshooting procedures at this point, disconnect power from HP 5517B Laser Head, set all test
jumpers to their left-most (normal) positions, return TEST-NORM switch A1S2 to NORM, and replace laser head
front panel and side covers.
