• Connect the GPIO cable to the Thunderbolt control connector (
on the system board" on page 42.
• Connect the internal DP-to-DP cable to the DisplayPort connector on the front Thunderbolt PCIe x4
card.
• Connect the mini-SAS cable to the SAS connector on the front Thunderbolt PCIe x4 card.
• Connect the external DP-to-DP cable to the DisplayPort connector on the front Thunderbolt PCIe x4
card and the DisplayPort connector on the graphics card.

Slim optical drive
To remove or install a slim optical drive in the flex module, do the following:
1. Prepare your computer. See "Preparing your computer and removing the computer cover" on page 103.
2. Record the cable connections and cable routing. Then, disconnect all cables connected to the flex
module from the system board. See "Parts on the system board" on page 42.
3. Remove the flex module from the front of the computer. See "Device in the flex bay" on page 106.
4. Lift the clip on the rear of the flex module. Then, slide the flex module cover to the rear of the flex module
to remove the cover.

5. To remove a slim optical drive, do the following:
a. Press the button as shown to remove the slim optical drive from the flex module.
