Overview Chapter 1: Overview N O T E : Aerotech continually improves its product offerings; listed options may be superseded at any time. All drawings and illustrations are for reference only and were complete and accurate as of this manual’s release. Refer to www.aerotech.com for the most up-to-date information.
Vibration can affect system performance. Contact Aerotech for information regarding your spe- cific application. Protection The MPS75SV is not suited for dusty or wet environments. This equates to an ingress Rating protection rating of IP00. Indoor use only Chapter 1...
Anodized Aluminum Body 1. Specifications are for single-axis systems measured 25 mm above the tabletop; performance of multi-axis system is payload and workpoint dependent. Consult the Aerotech factory for multi-axis or non-standard applications. 2. With Aerotech controllers. 3. Payload specifications are for a single-axis system.
Stages are packaged in a special polyethylene bag. Vacuum Guidelines To ensure that the MPS75SV will continue to perform well in the vacuum environment, follow the guidelines listed below (in addition to standard handling, installation, and lubrication guidelines outlined in this manual).
W A R N I N G : Improper handling could adversely affect the performance of the MPS75SV. Use care when moving the MPS75SV. W A R N I N G : An unsecured MPS75SV could be dragged off of a mounting surface by its unsupported cable.
MPS75SV Hardware Manual 2.2. Dimensions N O T E : Aerotech continually improves its product offerings; listed options may be superseded at any time. Refer to the most recent edition of the Aerotech Motion Control Product Guide for the most current product information at www.aerotech.com.
D A N G E R : To minimize the possibility of bodily injury or death, disconnect all electrical power prior to performing any maintenance or making adjustments to the equipment. W A R N I N G : An unsecured MPS75SV could be dragged off of a mounting surface by its unsupported cable.
N O T E : If your MPS75SV was purchased with Aerotech controls, it might have been tuned with a representative payload based on the information provided at the time of order. If the MPS75SV is started up without a payload, the servo gains provided by Aerotech with the shipment may not be appropriate and servo instability can occur.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock or damage to the equipment. W A R N I N G : The DC Power supplies for controllers must be double insulated. All Aerotech- provided power supplies are double insulated.
The MPS75SV comes from the factory completely wired and assembled. Each MPS75SV is shipped with documentation regarding the wiring, controller interface connectors, and specifications. N O T E : Refer to the other documentation accompanying your Aerotech equipment. Call your Aerotech representative if there are any questions on system configuration.

Electrical Specifications and Installation 3.4. Limits and Machine Direction Aerotech stages are configured to have positive and negative "machine" directions. The machine direction defines the phasing of the feedback and motor signals and is dictated by the stage wiring (refer to Section 3.5.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock or damage to the equipment. 4.1. Service and Inspection Schedule Lubricant inspection and replenishment in MPS75SV series stages depends on conditions such as duty cycle, speed, and the environment. An inspection interval of once per month is recommended until a trend develops for the application.
Cleaning Before using a cleaning solvent on any part of the MPS75SV, blow away small particles and dust with nitrogen or, less preferably, clean, dry, compressed air. Any external metal surface of the MPS75SV can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth.
