How to Restore the Default Settings

There are two methods to restore default settings. You can clear the menu settings,
saving only user data such as routes and points, etc, or reset the entire SMD7/9 set-
tings to factory default. To restore the default settings for both methods, follow the pro-
cedure below.
1. Tap the [Home] icon to show the [Home] screen, then tap [Settings] => [Initial Set-
up].
2. To reset the menu settings and keep user data, tap [Factory Defaults]. De-
pending on the level of restoration, tap the appropriate item.
• [Restore to Factory Defaults]: Resets the [Initial Settings] menu only.
• [Restore All to Factory Defaults]: Resets all menu settings only.
A confirmation message appears, tap [Yes] to reset the selected settings, or [No]
to cancel.
3. To reset the entire SMD7/9 settings and clear all user data, tap [Clear Memory]
=> [Clear].
A confirmation message appears, tap [Yes] to reset the selected settings, or [No]
to cancel. The system clears all selected, then restarts.

How to View the System Information

The system information is for use by service technicians and shows information such
as software version numbers, serial numbers and copyright information.
To view the system information, tap the [Home] icon, then tap [Initial Setup] =>
[About].
