Connecting the Printer to a Computer

Although this printer is intended to be used on a network, you
can use the parallel interface to connect the printer directly to a
computer.
Note:
Your printer also has room for an optional interface. See Chapter 4,
"Using Options," in your Reference Guide for more information.
Follow these steps to connect the printer to your computer
through the parallel interface:
1. Make sure both the printer and the computer are turned off.
2. Connect the parallel cable to the parallel interface connector
on the printer.
Note:
Use only a shielded, twisted-pair parallel cable.
