Using Interface Boards

Epson offers several optional interfaces you can use to supplement
your printer's built-in parallel and serial interfaces. The table below
lists the interface boards currently available for the EPI-4000.
Additional cards may be available later, so you may want to check
with your Epson dealer for an updated list.

The #8143 and #8148 serial interface boards are required if you need
an interface that conforms to the current loop standard instead of
RS-232C. These interfaces also provide X-on/X-off data
communications protocol and/or loopback self test modes.
The #8165 IEEE-488 interface board provides standardized
connections and allows you to
other devices to the same line so that they can share data freely.
