3.2 Rear Panel Description
3.2.1 Command Port
A 25 pin female D-Type V24/V28 interface connector provides
connection to your local terminal, PC, or modem for software
configuration control.
The port is configured as a physical DCE operating at a fixed rate (9600
bit/s, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 start and 1 or 2 stop bits. Port data rate can
be altered by software command.
3.2.2 USER and LINK Ports
The SBU128 has been designed so as to permit the user to insert the
unit between the user equipment and the DLC.
simplicity of this system, the USER port is defined as a physical DCE
and the LINK port as a physical DTE.
With the unit switched off, or in the event of a power failure, the USER
port is connected directly to the LINK port via relay contacts. When your
SBU128 is powered on, the relays are energised, causing the direct
connection to be broken, whilst the signals are routed through the
interface receivers and transmitters of your SBU128.
All operating parameters, such as speed, data, parity etc., are software
defined. Settings may be altered using a terminal connected to the
COMMAND port.
3.2.2.1 USER and LINK Pin Assignments

of this manual is detailed the various electrical
characteristics supported by your SBU128.

3.2.3 ISDN
A fixed lead and plug is supplied for connection to your ISDN outlet,
providing two 64kbit/s channels.
