However, the operating distance or range of your WiFi connection can vary significantly depending on the physical placement of your modem router.

    Specify Your Internet Settings Usually, the quickest way to set up the modem router to use your Internet connection is to allow the modem router to detect the Internet connection when you first access the modem router with an Internet browser. You can also customize or specify your Internet settings.

If you set up your computer to use a static IP address, change the settings so that it uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
