: Attach the snap ring (1) to the
magnet (2) so that the snap ring
gap is on the flat side of the tool's
shank (arrow).

: Push the large slotted diameter of
the sleeve over the magnet and
snap ring.
The inner pin (2) must point towards
the flat face (3) of the tool's shank.

: Press the installing tool
downwards into the sleeve until
the magnet butts against the end
of the guide slot.
Use a suitable base (wooden
board).
: Remove the sleeve and push it
on to the other end of the shank
as far as stop.
The inner pin (arrow) must again
point toward the flat face.
– Position the snap ring against the
carrier side of the piston.
: Apply the installing tool
5910 890 2208 with the sleeve's
taper against the piston boss,
hold the piston steady, center the
tool shank exactly and press
home until the snap ring slips into
the groove.
Make sure the tool shank is held
square on the piston pin axis.
Fit the snap ring (1) so that its gap
(arrow) points down – it must not be
near the recess (2).
– Check installed position of snap
ring.
