Inspecting the Front Brake
Lever Freeplay
1. Place your vehicle on its centre stand on a
firm, level surface.
2. Measure the distance the front brake lever
move before the brake takes hold.
Freeplay at the tip of the brake
lever: 10 to 20 mm (0.39 to 0.79 in)

Check the brake cable for kinks or signs of
wear. If necessary have it replaced by your
dealer.
Lubricate the brake cable with a commercially
available cable lubricant to prevent premature
wear and corrosion.
Make sure the brake arm, spring and fastener
are in good condition.
