4.1. THE TIMERS
Digital Satellite Receiver
Familiarization
Most digital channels transmit program data as an
EPG. Digital channels that transmit EPG offer you
program information in advance for a certain period of
time. Dependent of the service provider, EPG is
offered in different ways.
After you have entered the EPG, you can select the
different EPG options, these are:
The event timers are a kind of alarm clock. An event
timer reminds you when a program or a timed
VCR recording starts. You can set the next timers:
VCR timer, to automatically switch over to the
timed program before it really starts. This allows
you to record a program on a video tape (video
recorder);
Reserved timer, to automatically switch over to the
timed program before it really starts or when the
receiver is in standby, to switch on the receiver.
If a timer is set on a program that is shown in the EPG,
the relevant data is already shown in the timer. You
can change the settings as follows:
Date, to set the start date for the timer;
Start time, to set the start time in hours/minutes;
Stop time, to set stop time in hours/minutes;
Period, to set the timer once or for every
occurrence;
Status, to set (active) or delete (inactive) the timer.
Store settings, to program the timer.
Timers are shown in the EPG window as clocks.
In the List-Timers page, it is possible to get a list of the
timers that are set. In this page you also can change or
delete a set timer.
