5.2.1 Using GtkTerm Rather than Minicom

1. Use Aptitude to install GtkTerm from Terminal
Note: Most modern Linux distributions such as Ubuntu include Aptitude as a default.
a) Open Terminal and type:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gtkterm
2. Open GtkTerm
a) Open Terminal and type:
sudo gtkterm
3. Configure the Serial Port
a) From gtkterm, click on the menu option Configuration, then Ports, as shown in Figure 6
(below):

6.0 Running Your First Demo

1. Ensure all components are properly installed as described in the 4.0 Initial Setup section that
corresponds with your TDA3x kit.
#Terminal command for updating Aptitude's cached package list
#Terminal command for installing GtkTerm
#Terminal command for opening gtkterm
