Lubrication

Use
Figure 20
for locating the grease points on the
machine.
Grease type: No. 2 lithium or molybdenum grease
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the PTO, and engage the parking brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Clean the grease fittings with a rag. Scrape any
paint off the front of the fitting(s).
4.
Connect a grease gun to the fitting. Pump
grease into the fittings until grease begins to
ooze out of the bearings.
5.
Wipe up any excess grease.
Lubricating the Caster and
Wheel Bearings
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Lubricate the front wheel bearings and front spindles
(Figure
20).
Greasing the Mower-Belt
Idler
Service Interval: Every 50 hours
Grease the fitting on the mower-belt idler arm pivot
(Figure
20).
Note:
Remove the mower deck cover to access the
grease fitting for the mower-belt idler arm.
Greasing the Pump Control
and Bell Crank
Service Interval: Every 50 hours—Grease the
pump-drive idler pivot.
Every 50 hours—Grease the pump control.
Every 100 hours—Grease the
blade-engagement bellcrank.
Every 400 hours—Lubricate the cam lock with
anti-seize compound.
Grease the fitting on the pump-drive idler pivot and
the pump control.
Grease the blade engagement (PTO) bellcrank
(Figure
20).
Lubricate cam lock with anti-seize compound.
Note:
Remove the guards fitted under the machine to
access the grease fitting on the pump-drive idler pivot.
