INSTALLATION GENERAL NOTES

Installation can be carried out either with indoor unit placed on top of the outdoor unit
or the other way round, as indicated in the diagrams of the outdoor unit installation
manual .
Outdoor unit positioned at the bottom and indoor unit at the top (fig . 2) .
In this case, a trap should be made on the intake piping to halt the downflow of
refrigerant and to avoid liquid returning to the compressor .
Outdoor unit positioned at the top and indoor unit at the bottom (fig . 3) .
In this case, and in particular on mono split units, provide traps on the intake piping as
indicated in the diagram of the outdoor unit installation manual . These traps will allow
the oil to return to the compressor .
Admitted difference in height
The maximum difference in height between indoor unit and outdoor unit, and between
indoor units, must not exceed the values given in the "LIMITS TO THE LENGTH
AND HEIGHT DIFFERENCE OF REFRIGERANT PIPES" section, in the outdoor unit
manual .
Cooling pipe length
The length of the refrigerant pipes between the indoor and outdoor units must be as
short as possible and is in any case limited by compliance with the maximum height
difference values between the units .
Note: Diminution of the difference in height between the units and of the pipe lengths
will limit the load losses, consequently increasing the overall efficiency of the machine .
Pipe insulation
The relative connection pipes must be insulated .

INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION

Choosing the installation site . According to the
conditions highlighted in the "Installation diagrams"
section of the outdoor unit manual . Position the unit
as low as possible, allowing 15cm of free space
above the unit . Observe the indicated spaces (fig . 4) .
Before mounting the unit on the wall, make sure that
the wall can bear the weight of the unit, the air flow
is not hindered by curtains or other objects and the
position is suitable to ensure a good air diffusion into
the room .
The figure below highlights the different types
of connections available for each unit . These
connections can be accessed on the back of the unit
and are marked by the following symbols:
electrical connection with power
supply and outdoor unit
connection with refrigerant lines
R32
connection with condensation drain
