Description of the printer P remises 2 DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINTER The device described in this manual is a 3D printer suitable for 3D printing with the use of filament in thermoplastic material. The printer consists of an heated extruder mounted on a Delta-robot structure, a bed of work and a system for loading the material.
2.4. Technical data All WASP 3D printers are characterized by considerable strength and working precision. Their mechanics allows for greater precision and stability, guaranteeing greater production speeds. The presence of a heated surface and the complete casing of the printer facilitate a homogeneous and constant working temperature.
Description of the printer P remises 2.5. Noisiness The noise emitted by the printer only is inferior than 70 dB(A). The presence of more machines in the same area increases ATTENTION: It is the responsibility of the customer to carry out an assessment of the noise risk of his activity as prescribed by the legislation in force in the place where the printer is installed, and to equip the operators with adequate Personal Protective Equipment (such as headphones for hearing protection).

Ordinary and extraordinary maintanance P remises 7.3. Extraordinary maintenance ATTENTION: Extraordinary maintenance operations must be carried out by the Manufacturer’s Technicians or by maintenance personnel who have been instructed and authorized by the Manufacturer. Any of these operations not carried out by a manufacturer’s technician can cause irreversible damage to the machine or its parts and therefore renders the warranty null and void.
Ordinary and extraordinary maintanance P remises 7.3.1. Cleaning Pellet extruder Cleaning of the extruder is necessary when the extrusion is visibly poor, discontinuous or absent. It is important first of all to exclude other factors such as: • ...
Ordinary and extraordinary maintanance P remises 7.3.2. Cleaning the screw The cleaning of the screw is used to clean the screw of all the material, for example in the case of conglomerates of granules blocked in the middle of the screw. Screw cleaning is a non-trivial procedure and needs a good familiarity with the machine and its parts.

Ordinary and extraordinary maintanance P remises 7.3.3. Replacing Spitfire extruder Cleaning of the extruder is extraordinarily necessary when the extrusion is clearly poor, discontinuous or absent. It is important first of all to exclude the hypothesis that this is due to other factors, for example: 1.
Use of the printer P remises 8 USE OF THE PRINTER 8.1. General warnings Reading this chapter requires knowledge of the contents of paragraph 1.5 “General safety warnings” for the safe use of the printer. In addition, the specific requirements for interacting safely with the printer, relating to this chapter, are detailed in the following paragraphs.
Use of the printer P remises 8.4. Upload the .gcode In the Delta WASP Industrial 4.0 line the gcode can be loaded in two ways: • Using a USB stick • Using the Wi-Fi network Loading with USB pendrive: 1.
Use of the printer P remises 8.6. Loading the material 8.6.1. Pellet extruder The loading of the material from the tank to the extruder is entirely managed by an automatic system. However, the operator must keep the external tank loaded with the material. The end of material sensor pauses the machine until the material is loaded.
Use of the printer P remises 8.6.2. Spitfire extruder Loading the material into the Spitfire extruder is carried out as explained. To load the spool make sure that the spool holder is moounted in the machine Remove the horizontal element of the spool support and insert it in the center of the spool (fig 8.6.2 a) Reposition the horizontal element on the spool support (fig 8.6.2 b) Drag the filament inside the end of thread sensor on top of the extruder (fig 8.6.2 c) Accompany the filament at the entrance of the thread take-up...
Use of the printer P remises 8.7. Free Zeta System The Free Zeta system is a useful command to resume prints that have stopped and for any reason it has not been possible to recover with the Resurrection system. It is based on the principle of starting to print a chosen gcode from a certain height onwards, so that the first layer of the new print adheres to the last printed layer.
Use of the printer P remises 8.9. Manual leveling The manual leveling allows a mechanical adjustment on the height of the three support points of the printing bed, with the aim that their flatness is perpendicular to the machine’s working axis. When the platen is not well adjusted it can cause a difficulty of adhesion between the piece and the platen.
Use of the printer P remises 8.10. Change extruder ATTENTION: The extruder change must be carried out with the machine off and making sure that the various parts are not at temperature. ATTENTION: The operation must be carried out by at least two professionally qualified operators. The extruder change is an operation that replaces the extruder mounted with an extruder of a different type.

Use of the printer P remises 7.Loosen and then remove the 9 screws that secure the extruder to the machine arms with a 6 mm Allen wrench. (fig 8.10 o-p) 8. With the extruder suspended from the steel cable, prepare the second extruder to be assembled. 9.
Use of the printer P remises 8.11. Resurrection system The Resurrection system is a command for the automatic recovery of prints interrupted by a sudden shutdown during processing. The system is designed in particular for: • Blackout and sudden power outages during printing •...
1. Make sure that both the computer and the printer are connected to the same wifi network 2. Enter in the URL of the browser * the IP address that appears on the machine adding at the bottom “/ wasp”...
Use of the printer P remises 8.14. Emptying material In some situations it may be necessary to remove the print material from the machine. Some examples are: • Change of type of material • Cleaning • Transporting the machine In these cases, the procedure should be completed according to the following indications.
Use of the printer P remises 8.14.2. Spitfire Removing the printing material with the Spitfire extruder is an operation that consists of two phases: 1. Remove the filament from the extruder: run the “Unload Filament” command in the “PRINT” menu(fig 8.14.2 a). Manually remove the filament from the extruder.
8.15. Heaters and chamber temperature control Delta WASP 3MT INDUSTRIAL 4.0 supports an optional heating system that allows the control of the hot chamber. In this way it is possible to maintain a constant temperature inside the work volume that is higher than that of the external environment.
Additional instructions P remises 9 ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS 9.1. General warnings The reading of this chapter assumes, in order to use the printer safely, the knowledge of the contents of paragraph 1.5 “General safety warnings”. Furthermore, the specific requirements for safe interaction with the printer, related to this chapter, are detailed in the following paragraphs.
Additional instructions P remises NOTE: It is absolutely necessary to apply the regulations in force in the country of destination, regarding waste disposal, therefore it is forbidden to disperse any type of processing residue, oils, etc. in the environment.
